-After your trial lesson you have to pay for a full month subscription. So it might not be suitable for busy people or someone who needs one class only.

-Some learners complained of generic support system, while others shared that once a human support representative replied to them, their issue was solved.

-Some shared that their tutor cancelled at the last minute. Though the class will mostly be added to your balance.

Who should use it:

As Preply's payment model is based on a monthly subscription, it's more suitable for people who are committed to language learning and have relatively stable schedules.

My experience:

I wanted to improve my speaking skills in English as it's my second language. Choosing a tutor that fits my budget and goals was quite easy. After scheduling for a trial lesson, I received an email with two sections: one to set my learning goals and the other contained a placement test to assess my current level.

I joined the class on time and the tutor had already joined before me. Although I had internet and mic issues on my end, she was quite patient. After I managed all the problems, the tutor told me she considered rescheduling the trial with me if I hadn't been able to join even though around twenty minutes had passed.

The tutor was really kind and engaging, and the lesson wasn't boring at all. She also focused on speaking as I requested. She presented a couple of topics for us to discuss and later some questions I wanted to ask her. At the end she evaluated my conversational skills and mentioned my result of the placement test. She asked me if I was okay with doing homework and suggested some topics to discuss on future classes if I subscribed with her.
